About Ty Roberts

Make Time for YOU!

Me at 165…50 pounds lighter!

I grew up in a San Diego suburb.  I was always athletically involved though rarely athletically inclined. I played soccer, volleyball (that’s a thing in San Diego), and pitched in baseball. Even being athletic, I ate disastrously.  There were always cookies in the house, Happy Meals to be bought, and pizza to be cooked.  When I wasn’t on the field or on the court, I was playing video games or watching TV. Despite video games later being a career choice, it certainly led to me being an overweight kid. Eventually a growth spurt helped lean me out, but my habits stayed the same.  When my strength training cousin came out for the summer, he taught me how to really lift weights.  Turns out, I loved it and never gave it up. Unless you count that one year when I ballooned up to 215 when I was around 25….whoops.  wailea personal trainer

And this…was 50 pounds ago

I moved to Washington in 1994 and graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a Marketing and Economics degree. I ran a pet food store out of college until I fell backward into video game testing. I learned my industry and craft and worked my way up to be a producer with notable titles such as Bejeweled Blitz and Plants vs. Zombies on my resume.

All this time, I kept in shape and loved my time at the gym.  In 2014, I decided it was time to make my passion my career and I founded Time For YOU! Fitness with the belief that everyone should take time to focus on themselves each and every day. kihei personal trainer

I am proud to now be an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer. None of it would have been possible without my wife Katy Roberts (owner of our partner company VOWS Wedding & Event Planning) and my sweet little dogs Ginger the Cavalier and Lucy the Pug.

We are proud to call Maui home.  After visiting for many years and getting married here in 2013, Katy and I took a big chance in life and moved to Kihei in November of 2014.  I’m thrilled to be able to embrace the spirit of Aloha by bringing my training style to Maui.
